Guiding and empowering you through pregnancy, birth, and beyond...
Hi! I'm Rachel, a certified labor and postpartum doula, mother of 4, and a big nerd about all things pregnancy, childbirth, and new parenthood. I'm certified through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) and have additional training and certifications in specialties such as optimal fetal positioning and holistic postpartum wellness.
I've been a doula since 2018 and have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of consistent support, informed consent, empowerment, advocacy, and confidence during this most unique time in someone's life. My ultimate goal is to support YOU in your own individual desires and wishes…my ethos is that the things that are important to you are the things that are important to me, so you are ready for whatever your birth and parenting journey holds.
"Having Rachel as our doula was a lifesaver. This was our first baby and we went into this journey knowing absolutely nothing. Rachel was there to prep us ahead of time, from childbirth education to preparing for labor and birth. One of the things that I was the most grateful for was having her there for when I started going into early labor. She came to our house and comforted me through the contractions. She stayed with us through the entire labor at the hospital, offering suggestions on how to get comfortable and what to do next. She would massage my back whenever I started to have a contraction, and even showed my fiancé how to comfort me as well. Labor is hard and Rachel was there to make it just a little bit easier. She had an answer to every question we asked and provided us with so much information. We are grateful that we had Rachel by our side through our pregnancy and labor journey and highly recommend her to anyone else looking for a doula!"

Why Hire a Doula?

Doulas are professionally trained to provide evidence-based information and education as well as physical and emotional support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. We are the most consistent and present members of your birth team, and are 100% there to support YOU, unconditionally, lovingly, and without judgment. Doulas aren't just for home birth or unmedicated birth...we are for everyone!
A doula can be the least expensive insurance policy there is...continuous labor support from a doula statistically results in fewer unwanted interventions,
shortened labor, decreased need for medical pain relief, lower Cesarean birth rates, higher APGAR scores for baby, and more. Less intervention = lower overall costs associated with birth.

A good doula doesn't replace a spouse or partner in the birth space...we support them as well! The non-birthing parent is also going through a big emotional experience during childbirth and postpartum; I can teach comfort measures and supported labor positions, serve as a "go-fer" for snacks and supplies, provide reassurance and a calming presence, and take the pressure off your partner to remember all the details from your classes and books.
Birthing parents who work with a doula report higher satisfaction with birth experience regardless of outcome, meaning that even if your birth doesn't go 100% to plan you can still feel confident, empowered, and joyful about your experience. According to one study, "a skilled doula empowers a woman to communicate her needs and perceptions and actualize her dream of a healthy, positive birth experience."

"We worked with Rachel last year for the birth of our son. It was so nice to have Rachel on call when we had questions or when my wife thought she was in labor. Rachel helped keep us updated on what was going on in the busy delivery room, she eased both of our anxiety and stayed positive and energetic throughout a long labor. We appreciated Rachel’s guidance and friendship throughout my wife’s pregnancy and our son's first year."
